FUELING THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE & ECOSYSTEMS
The Indian Society for Plant Physiology (ISPP) established in 1958, is one of the oldest academic societies in India. It owes its origin to the vision and zeal of eminent plant scientists Prof. Boshi Sen, Prof. R. D. Asana, Prof. J. J. Chinoy and Prof. K. K. Nanda and the financial support of the Government of India.
A robust national network of active scientists, research fellows, and institutional chapters.
Advancing functional genomics, abiotic stress tolerance, phenomics, and molecular breeding.
Publishing high-impact discoveries and peer-reviewed studies via the Indian Journal of Plant Physiology.
Fostering exchange programs, international conclaves, and over 20+ global research alliances.
Advancing the frontiers of plant biology and agricultural innovation across India by bridging elite researchers, academic institutions, and global scientific ecosystems.
For nearly seven decades, the Indian Society for Plant Physiology has stood at the forefront of agricultural transformation, guiding academic research from classic botany into cutting-edge molecular breakthroughs.
ISPP was established by pioneering Indian plant physiologists to form a dedicated national forum for advancing botanical and agricultural research.
Launched the inaugural issue of the "Indian Journal of Plant Physiology," establishing an official peer-reviewed archive for breakthrough discoveries.
Partnered with elite international publishing houses (Springer) to expand the global footprint, impact factor, and reach of Indian plant research.
Empowering over 1,500+ active scientists, hosting national conclaves, and spearheading research in digital phenomics and climate resilience.
ISPP membership provides value and helps the society provide resources to the national and global plant science community.
